Schedule
Another way to incorporate fitness in your life is to schedule it. In the midst of doctor’s appointments, visits with grandkids, grocery shopping, and other life happenings, try to plan time at least three days a week to incorporate some light exercise. If this isn’t possible, just take it day by day. Find ways to incorporate some physical activity. If you have phone calls to make, try walking while you’re on the phone rather than sitting. If you’re paying bills or writing, schedule in a 5 minute walking break.
Keep a good pair of walking shoes on hand. If you’re spending time with family, try to do so in settings that will encourage all of you to pursue a healthy lifestyle. Find 10 minute breaks in your day to do some stretching — one of my favorite times to do this is right before bed! Or try getting up 10 minutes earlier and incorporating some yoga. You’ll find that even these short intervals of exercise will begin to create a positive change!
When schedules become crazier, it can be difficult to find the time to pursue fitness. Thankfully, there are a myriad of quick and easy ways that you can incorporate fitness into your life! Even the smallest changes will begin to add up. Making fitness a priority has countless benefits for both the body and mind. Now that we’ve looked at some quick steps to take on the road to fitness, what is your plan for the next month?
